The following speech was given at the National Parenting Conference in Boulder, Colorado, on September 25, 1997.

During the past three decades, I have spent much of my scholarly life examining primary sources such as diaries, autobiographies, doctor's reports, ethnographic reports and other documents that document what it must have felt like to have been a child--yesterday and today, in the East and the West, in literate and preliterate cultures.

In several hundred studies published by myself and my associates in The Journal of Psychohistory, we have provided extensive evidence that the history of childhood has been a nightmare from which we have only recently begun to awaken. The further back in history one goes--and the further away from the West one gets--the more massive the neglect and cruelty one finds and the more likely children are to have been killed, rejected, beaten, terrorized and sexually abused by their caretakers...."

...."Can we afford not to teach parenting? What more important task can we devote our resources to? Do we really want to have massive armies and jails and emotionally crippled adults forever? Must each generation continue to torture and neglect its children so they repeat the violence and economic exploitation of previous generations? Why not achieve meaningful political and social revolution by first achieving a parenting revolution? If war, social violence, class domination and economic destruction of wealth are really revenge rituals for childhood trauma, how else can we remove the source of these rituals? How else end child abuse and neglect? How else increase the real wealth of nations, our next generation? How else achieve a world of love and laughter of which we are truly capable?..... - czytaj

Medical science has long recognized and documented in great detail how being struck on the buttocks can stimulate sexual feelings. Children are especially susceptible. The tragic consequence for many children who have been punished by spanking is that they form a connection between pain, humiliation and sexual arousal that endures for the rest of their lives. In Slaughter of the Innocents, David Bakan writes:

"...The buttocks are the locus for the induction of pain in a child. We are familiar with the argument that it is a safe 'locus' for spanking. However, the anal region is also the major erotic region at precisely the time the child is likely to be beaten there. Thus it is aptly chosen to achieve the result of deranged sexuality in adulthood..." 1971 (p. 113)

The pornography and prostitution industries do a thriving business catering to the needs of countless unfortunate individuals whose sexual development has been derailed by childhood spankings. If we put all other considerations aside, this should be reason enough never to spank a child. - czytaj

I work hard with parents to have them understand that their attempt to coerce their child to take school seriously not only has failed — that’s why they’re in my office — but will likely continue to fail. And increasingly, the pain of their failed coercion will be compounded by the pain of their child’s resentment, which will destroy their relationship with their child and create even more family pain. Many parents acknowledge that this resentment already exists. I ask liberal parents, for example, if they would try to coerce a homosexual child into being heterosexual or vice versa, and most say, “Of course not!” And so they begin to see that temperamentally anarchist children cannot be similarly coerced without great resentment.

It has been my experience that many rebellious young people labeled with psychiatric disorders and substance abuse don’t reject all authorities, simply those they’ve assessed to be illegitimate ones, which just happens to be a great deal of society’s authorities. Often, these young people are craving a relationship with mutual respect in which they can receive help navigating the authoritarian society around them. - czytaj

Miliardy nowych ludzi, którzy będą decydować o wszystkim, co dzieje się na świecie?

ABY MÓC TWORZYĆ CZŁOWIEKA NIE TRZEBA UMIEĆ ZUPEŁNIE NIC! Wystarczy mieć macicę, ejakulujący wkład do niej i tyle. Nowego człowieka można machnąć w samochodzie, w krzakach, łóżku, w toalecie remizy strażackiej, podczas dyskoteki, dosłownie wszędzie! Umysł nowego człowieka może być swobodnie kreowany przez: alkoholików, analfabetów, narkomanów, psychopatów, socjopatów, chorych psychicznie, oziębłych emocjonalnie, pedofili i wszelkich degeneratów. Dokładnie przez każdego, kto ma ochotę i kogoś do pary.
Aby zostać rodzicem, nie trzeba przejść absolutnie żadnego kursu. Nie trzeba zdać żadnego testu. Testem jest nowy człowiek. Niewinne dziecko, z którego z całą pewnością „ktoś lub coś” wyrośnie.
Dlaczego światowa psychologia nie uczy rodziców jak być rodzicami? Dlaczego matki nie są kształcone w swoim „fachu”, skoro istnieje kilka prostych sposobów, aby wychować zdrowe psychicznie i emocjonalnie dziecko?
Dlaczego agresywni, patologiczni rodzice nie są poddani nadzorowi kuratorskiemu, skoro wówczas można by zaoszczędzić na nadzorze kuratorskim kryminalistów? Dlaczego światowe systemy szkolnictwa nie wychowują dzieci? Przecież szkolny nauczyciel przez kilka lat jest dla dziecka olbrzymim autorytetem. Dlaczego prawo nie wymaga od rodzica przystąpienia do odpowiedniego szkolenia i zaliczenia odpowiedniego testu przed rozmnożeniem się?..."  - czytaj
